An enquiry has been occurring in the back yard.
We have had the builders in upgrading our external fence and ramp and there has been diggers, noisy tools and wheelbarrows and of course lots and lots of dirt and mess.
This has evolved into what we are observing in play, “power tools” have become part of everyday play, they are repurposing wooden planks as chainsaws and digging holes and including lots and lots of construction props in play.
Enquiry based play is simply just that, the children enquire and explore and continue to scaffold their play based on something they have discussed or seen.
We are delighted as educators to see what an impact events and circumstances have on children’s play in a positive way and how enriching that is to friendships and education
