About

Toybox Community Child Care Centre was established in 1987 after federal funding was awarded to Port Lincoln to open up a Child Care Centre for the community. We remain the only community based service and have provided high quality childcare to Port Lincoln and the Eyre Peninsula for 30 years.

We are proud of our high quality care in a warm and homely environment. We are currently rated as EXCEEDING the National Quality Standards which focus on areas such as educational programs, children’s health and safety, partnerships with families and community, relationships with children, and staffing.

Toybox is a not for profit organisation. All funds received go straight back into the centre. This means we have ample resources to support children’s learning, we have well trained staff and are able to support staff when studying.

Toybox supplies morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea which is provided by our on site chef. We ensure we have nutritional and healthy menu options, while also being  ‘Allergy Aware’ and can cater for individual dietary requirements.

We are an innovative centre which believes in sustainable environmental practices as core to our ongoing pledge to the local community and for the future. We think local and support local.

The centre is governed by a Governance Committee that meets every month made up of families who access the centre and a member of the public as the community representative. The Director manages the day to day running of the service.

We are a 80 place centre divided into 4 main rooms.

NURSERY ROOM – 6 weeks to 2 years of age.

TODDLER ROOM – 2 years to 3 years of age.

PRE-KINDY ROOM – 3 years to 4 years of age.

KINDY ROOM – 4 years to school age.

The centre is open from 7.45am to 6.00pm 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year.
